Since its inception in 2001, the main goal of Speed51.com powered by JEGS has been to help promote short track racing, with their primary focus in asphalt oval track racing. “The Short Track Source” continues to see an increase in their audience, which allows them to help advance promote many events around the United States through the quickly growing Internet market.
“We are all short track racing fans, but we are also business people. The number-one priority is to help increase the level of exposure for short track events, series, tracks, racers and sponsors,” said Bob Dillner, Founder of Speed51.com and FOX Sports NASCAR TV commentator. “Part of this process is partnering up with different tracks and series across the country to help give them the advance exposure of upcoming events along with our Trackside Now to help give race fans an insight of what happens at these events.”
With Speed51.com powered by JEGS' ever-increasing presence on the Internet, they have a national audience that is higher than many areas of traditional media.
How strong is Speed 51’s presence on the Internet? So far in 2014, they have had over 530,000 visitors to their website with over 1.2 million page views. Last year speed51.com had more than 2.5 million visitors.
With Speed 51’s affordable rates, tracks and series Promoters are seeing value of a partnership with Speed 51.
On the track level, Speed 51 is has partnerships with a variety of tracks across the United States. Some include: Five Flags Speedway and New Smyrna Speedway (FL), Gresham Motorsports Park (GA), South Alabama Speedway and Mobile Int’l Speedway (AL), Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville (TN), Lee USA Speedway (NH), Madison International Speedway and Marshfield Motor Speedway (WI), Toledo Speedway (OH), Berlin Raceway and Kalamazoo Speedway (MI), Winchester Speedway and Anderson Speedway (IN), Caraway Speedway, Hickory Motor Speedway and Southern National Motorsports Park (NC) and more.
Marshfield Motor Speedway began its partnership with Speed51.com just last year.
“We started a partnership with 51 specifically with our Yellow River Racing Series,” Wayne Brevik, Marshfield Motor Speedway Promoter said. “Our track is located in a rural area in Central Wisconsin and it’s not located near a heavily traveled road. When Speed 51 started promoting us, not only did people in the area take notice of whom we are, but also we started getting inquiries from all over the country. One family that was traveling through from the West Coast, saw a Trackside Now on Speed 51; they were in the area and came out to enjoy one of our racing program.
“Their Trackside Now has helped our front gate. People who live near the track saw our ad and appreciated that we are making an effort to get more notice. They have really helped us all year long and look forward to working with them this year.”
Speed51.com powered by JEGS has also partnered with some of the top racing series. The list includes: American-Canadian Tour, Champion Racing Association, ARCA Midwest Tour, CARS Pro Cup Series, KOMA Unwind Modified Series, ISMA Super Modifieds, NASCAR Home Tracks program and the Southern Super Series to name a few.
Champion Racing Association (CRA) has been a long time partner with Speed 51 and they continue to see the benefit of a strong working relationship.
“The biggest benefit that Speed 51 gives is exposure,” Glenn Luckett, Series Director of CRA said. “Speed 51 is number one with providing information and news on our level, they help get the word out and the racing community updated to what is happening.”
Luckett also sees benefits with their Trackside Now coverage.
“It keeps people interested and excited. We may not see an immediate benefit at that event, but if someone sees our event they will probably come to the next one,” Luckett explained. “The big thing to remember is that their Trackside Now doesn’t replace the feeling you get when you are actually at the track. But it helps the people learn more about our series and our drivers. It helps create more interest and enthusiasm, especially with race teams looking for places to race. They help make our big events even bigger.”
Along with tracks and series, Speed 51 also has helped many companies sell their products to the racing community.
QuickCar Racing Products in Lebanon, Tennessee started an advertising partnership with Speed 51 this year.
“This is our first year advertising on Speed51.com, and we are extremely pleased,” Danny Knowles, General Manager of QuickCar Racing Products said. “Our advertisements on Speed 51 have driven people to our website consistently. The great thing about advertising online is that you get measurable results. We have tracked the amount of traffic coming from Speed51.com to our site and feel that it is a great value for our advertising dollars.”
Speed51.com powered by JEGS is also the home of exclusive live content through exclusive partnerships with some of the most prestigious short track races in the country, including the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway (FL), All-American 400 at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville (TN), ARCA Fest at the Milwaukee Mile (WI), Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway (IN), World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park (GA), Governor's Cup 200 and World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway (FL), the Battle at Berlin at Berlin Raceway (MI), the Kalamazoo Klash at Kalamazoo Speedway (MI), the North-South Shootout (Modifieds) at Caraway Speedway (NC), CRA’s SpeedFest and much more. Plus, 51 will be covering some of the great racing action from the top short tracks and series across the country.
Many announcements regarding “The New 51” are still to come, which will expand the horizons of short track racing as a whole. Look for a debut of the new speed51.com in June.
