Whether its two wheels or four, road courses or ovals, major touring series events or local weekly shows, race fans across the world will soon have a chance to tune in to their favorite motorsports events.
Later today, FansChoice.tv, a joint partnership between NASCAR, AMA Pro Racing and IMSA will be announced. The new online-only video channel will live stream various races not covered by broadcast television.
FansChoice.tv will be the home of AMA Pro Road Racing and AMA Pro Flat Track motorcycle events this season and will also provide coverage of selected IMSA road racing and NASCAR Touring and Weekly series races in 2014.
“This really is going to be ‘Fan’s Choice,’” said George Silbermann, NASCAR vice president of regional and touring series. “The partnership between AMA Pro, IMSA and NASCAR means the fans will have access to more racing than ever before. They will be able to choose from a variety of series and tracks, and be able to follow their favorite drivers virtually wherever they race.”
FansChoice.tv will be offered for free and allows viewers to choose from multiple camera angles along with live timing and scoring data and audio commentary from the track's PA system.
Three NASCAR Whelen All-American Series tracks have already signed up to be a part of the FansChoice.tv platform. Langley Speedway in Virginia, Lake County Speedway in Ohio and Evergreen Speedway in Washington will have their events broadcast on FansChoice.tv in 2014.
Select NASCAR K&N Pro Series, NASCAR Whelen and Whelen Southern Modified Tour and off-track events such as the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Awards and NASCAR Night of Champions Touring Series Awards in December will also be carried live by FansChoice.tv.
More tracks and events are expected to be announced at a later date.
The site's first live event will be Thursday's AMA Pro Flat Track event from the quarter-mile dirt oval at Daytona International Speedway (FL) as part of the Daytona 200 weekend. Coverage will continue with AMA Pro Flat Track and AMA Pro Road Racing divisions on Friday, concluding with the 73rd running of the Daytona 200 AMA Pro Road Racing event Saturday.
