When Dillner-Hughes Racing announced plans to compete for the 2014 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Rookie of the Year honors for driver Bobby Measmer, Jr., they did so with plans to become a powerhouse team in the Modified ranks.

Those plans took one major step towards becoming a reality today with the announcement of a partnership between DHR and Powerhouse Recycling of Salisbury, North Carolina.  Powerhouse Recycling has become a marketing partner of the team for the 2014 season and will adorn the rear panel of the DHR No. 51 Modified.

"Powerhouse Recycling is proud to be partnered with Bobby Measmer, Jr. and Dillner-Hughes Racing for their racing endeavors in 2014," said Mike Kennedy, owner of Powerhouse Recycling.  "We have been honored to work with Bobby for several years and we've seen him go to victory lane in Late Models.  Now we're excited to see what he can do as he chases Modified victories in the Powerhouse Recycling No. 51 car."

Powerhouse Recycling Inc. is an experienced professional in the field of consumer electronics. Over the years, many changes in the consumer electronics industry has resulted in more electronic waste being retired in our landfills.  PHR was born in 2008 and operations began as an e-waste collector and naturally progressed to a fully operational recycler.

With Powerhouse Recycling adorning the panels of the No. 51 cars, Bobby Measmer already has his sights on the season-opening NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event on March 9 at North Carolina's Caraway Speedway.

"It's been great working with Powerhouse Recycling over the years and the fact that they wanted to stick with us as we move to the Modified ranks really means a lot," said Measmer, who is a former NASCAR Track Champion at Concord Speedway in North Carolina.  "Bob (Dillner) and Kevin (Hughes) have put a lot of effort into giving us everything we need to win races and with the support of Powerhouse Recycling and our other partners, I know we can go to the front at Caraway."

Dillner-Hughes Racing will begin its chase for the 2014 Rookie of the Year title in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour when the schedule opens March 9 at Caraway.  The NWSMT schedule features 15 points events at tracks from North Carolina to New Hampshire, ranging from quarter-mile bullrings like Bowman Gray Stadium (NC) and Langley Speedway (VA) to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series facilities such as Bristol Motor Speedway (TN) and Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC).
