Each year, the Speed51.com Short Track Draft powered by JEGS polls industry insiders, media members and top-level racers and crew members for their selections of young, up-and-coming drivers they would most like to see get a shot at the sport's top levels. Fans everywhere look forward to the reveal of the top-51 short track racing prospects and then are quick to pass along their thoughts on which drivers were too high, too low or didn't make the Draft list at all.
Now, fans will once and for all have their say in the Short Track Draft.
Starting Monday, April 28 and two more times this week, Speed51.com is asking fans to play the role of fantasy NASCAR team owner. Fans can vote once per voting round for the driver that they would select to drive for their development team. Remember, it's not necessarily a vote for your favorite driver or your family member. Instead, choose the driver that you feel best deserves a shot at the sport's top level.
The rules for the Fan Vote are as follows:
- Eligible drivers for the 2014 Short Track Draft must be age 29 or younger.
- Drivers must be currently active in short track racing.
- Drivers cannot currently have a full-time ride or have had a full-time ride in one of NASCAR's top-three series in recent seasons.
Votes will be open now. Fans can vote once per round. Votes will be reset on Wednesday, April 30 at noon ET and again on Friday, May 2 at noon ET. Only votes placed in official Short Track Draft Fan Vote posts will be counted.
The official Speed51.com Short Track Draft powered by JEGS results will be revealed starting on May 8. The winner of the 2014 Speed51.com Short Track Draft Fan Vote will be announced shortly thereafter.
