The Driver Who Dominated the Week in Short Track Racing
Week of April 7 - April 13
Any racer will tell you that just winning one race over the course of an event is about as difficult as anything in sports. Winning two races in one day is very rare and accomplished by only the most diverse and eager racers. Taking three victories is just about unheard of...unless, of course, you were at Connecticut's Waterford Speedbowl Sunday for the Blastoff event.
Keith Rocco, a former NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National Champion, did something that hadn't been done in nore than 50 years at Waterford. Rocco won three races Sunday - the three spotlight races of the day - adding to his stellar resume of success throughout Connecticut's short tracks. Rocco started the day with a win in the 64-lap NWAAS SK Modified feature. Later in the day, he went two-for-two by taking the 50-lap NWAAS Late Model victory. He completed the "Speedbowl Sweep" by leading every lap in the Valenti Modified Racing Series 100-lap feature.
For his performance over the weekend at Waterford Speedbowl, Keith Rocco is this week’s Maxima Racing Oils Dominator. Rocco will receive a product certificate from Maxima Racing Oils.
